Position Summary The R&D Manager – Polymer Compounding will lead the Research & Development function for polymer compounds and engineered plastic materials. The role involves developing innovative formulations, improving existing products, managing technical projects, and supporting customer-specific development requirements while ensuring compliance with quality and industry standards. Key Responsibilities R&D Strategy & Leadership Lead the overall R&D activities for polymer compounding products. Develop and implement product innovation strategies aligned with business goals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in formulations, processes, and material performance. Product & Process Development Develop new polymer compounds, masterbatches, and customized formulations. Optimize formulations for performance, processability, and cost efficiency. Conduct trials, validation studies, and scale-up activities. Innovation & Technology Development Research new materials, additives, fillers, and processing technologies. Monitor market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies. Support sustainable and advanced material development initiatives. Project & Team Management Manage R&D projects from concept to commercialization. Coordinate with production, quality, procurement, and sales teams. Mentor and guide junior R&D staff and lab technicians. Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with IATF, ISO, and NABL standards. Maintain technical documentation, test reports, and formulation records. Support audits, certifications, and customer quality requirements. Customer & Business Support Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders. Participate in customer meetings, troubleshooting, and product approvals. Support business development with technical presentations and product recommendations. Qualifications B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field. 8–10 years of experience in polymer compounding R&D. Strong knowledge of engineering plastics, additives, fillers, and polymer processing. Experience in product development and technical troubleshooting preferred. The role focuses on cost control, contractor billing, quantity surveying, and project planning to ensure efficient execution and financial management.
